HEAD COACHES 2025

Erin Davis

All Women's Camps & Beginner Camp

Erin has been coaching volleyball since 2012, leading a variety of different age groups and both women and men's divisions. Erin grew her interest in volleyball by playing both middle and opposite hitter in high school and youth club volleyball. From 2012 to 2021 Erin was coaching with Warman Volleyball Club and from 2022 to present she has been coaching with Central Valley Volleyball Club. Most recently Erin has lead the Central Valley Volleyball 13UW Aces to a silver medal win at Sask Volleyball Provincials in 2022, the 14UW Aces to a bronze medal at Sask Cup #1 in 2023, and the 15UW Aces to a gold medal in Sask Cup #3 in 2024.

Erin enjoys helping athletes improve both their confidence on the court as well as their technical skills. Her main purpose when coaching is to ensure athletes are having fun, and that her love for the sport is spread.

Matthew Schmidt

All Men's Camps & Beginner Camp

Matt has been coaching volleyball since 2022 for Prairie Thunder Volleyball Club in SK, Junior Pilots Volleyball Club in MB, and most recently Central Valley Volleyball Club. Matt played high school and youth club volleyball growing up, and played post-secondary with Providence University Pilots. Over the years Matt has gained experience playing in both left side and libero positions and medaling multiple times in SHSAA Provincials with Valley Christian Academy (VCA).

Matt enjoys coaching not only for the community it helps create, but to share the sport that he loves with others.

Kevin Davis

Beginner Camp

Kevin is the club founder and has over 20 years coaching experience, in every age and competitive level. Kevin has coached several athletes to college scholarships, both here in Canada and the US. He has for the last several years dedicated his time to the developmental side of the sport, helping young athletes be the best that they can be, through skill development, mental support and by building relationships that will last through their volleyball careers.

Marlys Franko

15U - 18U Camps

Marlys has over 15 years of playing experience including 2 years of Team Alberta and 3 years at Red Deer College where she played volleyball in Japan and ended her post secondary career by winning a bronze medal at the CCAA Nationals. After graduating she started her coaching career by assisting at her old High School in Red Deer. She also coached for 3 years in the Red Deer Queens Volleyball Club and was the Head Coach for Zone 5 in the 2004 Alberta Summer Games where her team won gold. She spent a summer as an assistant coach for Team Alberta and then coached a high school team for 2 years in Sherwood Park, AB before taking a break to start her family.

Marlys came back to coaching in 2021 when she joined CVVC as the head coach for a 13UW team. She coached with CVVC for the next 3 years where she led her U15 team to a D2T1 Provincial Bronze Medal.

Volleyball has always been a huge part of her life and she enjoys coaching and giving back to the sport she loves. You can always find Marlys in the gym helping her son and daughter who both play for CVVC.

Kristin Pierce

Beginner Camp

Kristin Pierce brings decades of elite volleyball experience to the court, including playing for Team Sask, an elite club team, and NCAA Division II college volleyball in the States. She’s previously assistant coached, supported Cool Moves Volleyball, and continues to play competitive women’s, coed, and beach volleyball. Kristin is passionate about coaching to inspire joy, fun, and connection through sport, while building confidence, skills, and a lifelong love for the game in young athletes.

Zoe Schellenberg

Beginner Camp

Zoe loves coaching to help athletes improve as both players and as people, which is the same way she was coached when she was young. Zoe helped with the FTSV camp in 2024, and she was an Assistant Coach to the 13UW CVVC Aces team this past season, who won gold at Provincials.

Peyton Thomas

17UW/18UW Camp

Peyton has been playing volleyball for 10 years as she has played both high school as well as club volleyball. She also still plays today on a variety of teams. She has been coaching since 2019 in which she assistant coached a team from 14U until 18U. For the last few years, she has ran Martensville development camps as well as helped coach the CVVC development camp for our young athletes. Peyton assistant coached the grade 9 Martensville volleyball team in 2023 where they won playoffs. She has recently took the position of head coach for the Martensville High Senior B team and is super pumped for the season!

Through her love for physical activity, competition, as well as team sports. She hopes to share her love for volleyball while helping each athlete grow as a player.
